Its a real pleasure to start off the Show with Randy Derr's 1/12th scale in progress replica of the 1966 U.S.A.C National Sprint Car Champion driven by Roger McCluskey.
This model is completly scratch builtwith the exception of the engine block. The frame is made from silver soldered 0.114" dia brass rod. The suspension features scratch built
spherical rod ends, torsion bars, torsion bar arms made from brass and aluminum as well as many other custom photoetched
pieces.
The Halibrand QC, gearbox, brake calipers, wheels and tires are resincastings made from scratch built
masters. The hubs have either left or right hand threads depending on which side of the car they are on and are threaded at 96 threads per inch. The steering gear is being constructed and it will use a custom built 3-lead, left hand worm gear meshing with a 12 tooth bevel gear to obtain the 4:1 steering ratio of the prototype.
This model has been under construction for two years and it is through the co-operation of the original cars owner that makes this project possible.
Thanks for shareing your model with us Randy!!

Gord Bradley is a long time friend. He's been a street rodder and model builder most of his life. In fact, he has an amazing collection of models that numbers well into the hundreds. One day, I'm going to go over to his "room" and take some pictures that will be sure to impress everyone.
Gord has submitted two of his "Big" models and one of his bikes to our Show & Shine. There's no need for description here, the pictures speak for themselves.
Thanks for participating Gord!

The "Jagster" is a combination of XKE Jag and 32 Ford. The Jag roof has been chopped, sectioned, narrowed and molded to the Deuce body. The body has had a wedge section taken out of the sides, the wheel wells have been moved up and tubbed, the rear fenders have been sectioned and roatated forward and the hood has been sectioned. Suspension and power will be Jag.
The Bugatti engine is the beginning of a "different" K76 build. Different, in that its all about colour. Rather than the usual, I'm going with a Guards Red and Silver engine combo and a Guards Red and Creme body along with a few detail changes just to have some fun with a Pocher model.
In preparation for finishing the Jagster, the Bugatti and starting work on a new Mad Fabricator body, I've got a bunch of cool bodies for sale. Contact me off site at <rick21142@shaw.ca> AFTER THE SHOW for details.

Hey Gang, welcome to the first online international large scale model Show and Shine. Here are my entries. Unfortunately, I did not build them but I know they would be of interest to many of you.
The first die cast model is from GMP. It's a 1/12 scale 1964 289 Cobra. The features include removable wheels with knock off hubs, Laced wire wheels, opening doors and trunk with a full size spare, working front and rear suspension, turnable wheels, upholstered leather plush seats, opening gas cap, working hood locking handles, nicely done undercarriage and a fairly well plumbedengine. This is my all time favorite sports car ever made.
The second model is also made by GMP and it's the 1/6 scale blown 392 Chrysler Hemi from 1958. It's fairly well detailed and really heavy. Enjoy both models and the rest of the show.

My old pal Jim Ferris liked seeing his blue deuce so much he asked me to post pictures of two more of his builds. Some guys just can't get enough of their own stuff!
By the way, Jim is looking for top for a Big Tub. He's desperate! If you have one, Jim can be contacted at <EMOCAT1@ADELPHIA.NET>. Lets see if we can help him out.
This is a basically box stockBig Deuce. The exhaust cutouts are through the frame because the car was going to be fenderless. I scratched the nerf bars and the molding on the grill shell. The windshield is chopped. The color is "House of Kolor" Pagan Gold, with a hand painted white stripe.
One interesting fact about this car is that the tires are from what's left of an original issue Big Deuce that my dad built back in '63. Thanks for looking!

This is my current in progress Big Deuce. The front of the frame has been pinched and bobbed to stop behind the grille. I made a "pie cut" at the firewall so the rails would sweep upward. The body has been channeled, as well as the gas tank removed and the rear rails bobbed. I fabbed a Shroeder style steering setup, but still need to finish the steering box and mounts that will be under the dash. The Frame is Gloss Black and the Body is Red Oxide Primerwith vinyl decals. The headlight bar is a modified kit piece and the headers were made for the kit pontiac engine, but I modified them to fit the flatty.
What's left? Interior, exhaust, steering box/mounts, shocks. THANKS FOR LOOKING!

This 32 Ford 5 Window Coupe is modeled after an actual car that was built back in 1960 and is still owned and driven by the builder. This car won Best HotRod at the 1961 World of Wheels in Hartford Conn. The interior also won Best Interior in show.
So after 197 hours of fabrication to the roadster kit and a resinbody, the noga-hide and button interior was a task. The 1/8 build was given to the car owner.
This car is a dead on replica of the real car.

This T was a box build with lots of engine detail added. The interior and paint catch your eye.
The T was first painted with Testors White Primer, wet sanded with 2000 grit and primed again. Then I used a base coat
of Testors Model Master Metallic
Silver. The color is Colors by Boyd (Orange Pearl
). I shot on the color till the desired shade was reached. Then 3 coats of Testors Clear Coat
was applied with wet sanding
using old 2000 grit between 1st and 2nd coats.
The T has a real black and brown leather interior.
I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

This is my Pro Street T Deuce; she is built with a Street T and 32 Roadster kits and lots of scratch builtstuff.
T bucket with 32 Ford roadster back end and fenders has been channeled, sectioned, narrowed, stretched and rear pan added. Roadster front cowl added to the T body. The frame has been stretched 2.5 inches and tubed as seen in photos. Rear end has been narrowed.
Engine is now blown with triple carburetor set-up.
Body has been filled and sanded over and over. Hood has been stretched and open to let the blower out. The radiator shortened.
I have made a narrowed wind shield frame and molded it to the body.
The T's interior has been covered in black leather and the floor will be carpeted. Dash is wood with inserted gauges, tilt style steering. I built some wheelie bars to help get the fatties to the road on launch.
She has been painted with 4 coats of clear over the 5 stage paint. Hay! What color is that thing? I don't know it changes every time I move.
