The chassis shape forward of the firewall was recontoured to give it a slimmer more '34 like look. Also the body was slightly channeled at the cowl and the rear of the body was raised slightly. This all gave the body to chassis the right look. But it also meant I had to lower the grille to get everthing running in the right line in relation to each other. Because of the raising of the rear of the body. The rear of the chassis, hung down below the body and with this build I didn't want that.
So I made a rolled pan off the end of the chassis to finish of this area of the build!
Don I can't see why you can't be eligible for the 'Whodaky HotRod Pick'. As I am not part of the organising body of the contest and am merely just a member of the site, who is making an impartial contribution to the contest.
Just attaching the images to this post. I got to thinking how neat it is to do an update on a model build, when that build is totally completed and all the build images are at hand! It is a really interesting concept. Well at least in my mind, that crazy mind that tends to over analyze stuff, at times.

Almost done. This might not be how I would've build my rod, but I'm cloning this Model A, as it was in 1962. Chopped and channeled body, Model T grill shell, boxed Model A frame stepped up front and rear, plywood seats, plywood floor, Y-Block Ford, 1939 Ford rear-end, home made gas tank, Oldsmobile cross steering, 2 inch exhaust exit through the body, and tail lights mounted on top of the exhaust pipes.
I'm sorry guys but I'm withdrawing from this competition - including the "in-progress" section.
We've been hit particularly hard by the weather up here in Washington this year and as such I have not been able to in any shop time.
I did manage to complete the scratchbuilt '32 truck frame to my liking. Next step was to be the body. I am very much looking forward to continuing in a few more weeks and I look forward to entering and sharing my work in future SMC events.
In the mean time I'll continue to follow the other builds and to root for my favorites.
Take care all,
Steve

That's ok Steve. I wound up having to pack it in also for lack of time. I'll be waiting for more pics when you can get back to the shop. I'm having the seat belts on my hobby chair fortified again. :)'

Here are a few general shots of the model.
The front shot you can see the scratch buildaluminium I beam dropped axle. I also made an inner skin for the deck lid. And there is a shot of the engine. The engine came from a Hotwheels 1/18th diecast. But has been extensively modified for this build!

As I said with my model contest submission I would like to add a giveaway to the contest.
I have been advised by Don and Rick that this is OK.
So I will be making a 'Whodaky's HotRod Pick'.
Basically the criteria is. The hotrod model that takes my eye. Such a hot
rod model may not necessarily be the best built model in the contest.
I have judged in a similar way at other model displays and I think this gives a better chance to everyone. Because sometimes even the best built and detailed models don't always totally depict the style of hotrod the way they should be.
Because I have no input as such to the running and organisation of this contest, all models in the contest will be eligible and that includes the guys organising and running this contest.
Below is an image of what the recipient of my award will recieve. I may add a bit more lines to the striped piece.
